The Perfect Pumping and Pelletizing Extruder
Ideal for pumping molten plastics from a batch or continuous mixer or extruder.
Davis-Standard Melt Fed extruders use our proven feed screw designs and patented melt temperature control system, the Melt Fed extruder locks in melt temperature stability. This minimizes undesirable mechanical or thermal energy inputted into the plastic and delivers stable volume to the die.
For continuous feed operations, Melt Fed extruders are supplied with a wide mouth feed throat. For batch operations, a Ram Stuffer is used to continuously move the material into the feed screw. This avoids cooling of the batch dump, which, when exposed to atmosphere, can form a shell layer, adversely affecting feed. Barrel diameter and L/D, feed, Hp and gear ratios are configured for your material, its temperature, and the batch size.
